Dignity at Work Policy video

Introducing the University of Cambridge’s Dignity at Work Policy

The University is committed to nurturing a culture in which we treat one another with courtesy and professionalism, even while robustly challenging each other’s views and opinions. There is no place for bullying, harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct, or victimisation in our community. This short video provides an introduction to the Dignity at Work Policy (2023 ed.), which sets out the University’s expectations around how we should and should not behave towards other members of our community to create and maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive community.

In an environment that encourages and celebrates freedom of thought and expression, it is vital that our behaviour towards one another remains courteous and professional. The Code of Behaviour sets out the University’s expectations around how we should and should not behave towards other members of our community.

All University employees and workers have a responsibility to act in line with this Code. College employees and workers, academic visitors, volunteers, retired staff, suppliers and others are also expected to behave in a manner that is consistent with the Code if undertaking their work or services specifically in the University environment or when engaging in activities related to the University.

A leaflet version of the Code is available here, which can be downloaded and/or printed to help ensure that the standards in the Code are communicated effectively.
