On 30 March, the EU Settlement Status scheme opened to the public, following a successful piloting of the scheme in late 2018/early 2019. The scheme is open to all EU, EEA and Swiss nationals, and their family members (regardless of nationality), and is now free of charge to all applicants. For those staff members who applied during the pilot, the Home Office will refund the fee automatically, over the coming weeks.

The scheme is open for all EU/EEA/Swiss nationals, and their family members, who are resident before ‘exit day’ and, ‘deal’ or ‘no deal’, they will have until at least 31 December 2020 to make an application through this scheme to safeguard their right to live and work in the UK once the UK leaves the EU.

Applications can now be made online, and can also continue to be made via an Android device. For the latest guidance on how to apply, please see the University’s Immigration webpages.
