Protections in law

The Equality Act 2010 provides protection against unlawful direct discrimination, indirect discrimination, harassment and victimisation of staff, students or visitors on the grounds of religion or belief. These protections apply to employment, education (including higher education) and the provision of goods and services. Protection from unlawful direct and indirect discrimination, harassment and victimisation is available to all University employees and workers, including job applicants.

The University, as a public authority, also has Public Sector Equalities Duties in relation to religion or belief.
