Human Resources

The role of the Organisational Development (OD) team

Our overarching objective is to ensure that the University of Cambridge is a great place to work.

We work to connect all parts of the organisation and support positive cultural change to improve employees’ experiences of working here.

We are part of the HR Division but are embedded within the Change Programme Management Office.

We have knowledge and understanding of how the organisation works, a values-based approach and a broad range of skills which we use to support cultural change and transformation across the institution, including:

  • Relationship building
  • Consultancy and facilitation skills
  • Change management
  • Organisational Development tools and diagnostic techniques

Please also see the page summarising what Organisational Development is

How we can help

We use an OD-led approach to support positive cultural change by:

  • Strengthening employee engagement and improving the employee experience
  • Ensuring the employee voice informs strategy
  • Providing support to colleagues going through small and large-scale change and transformation
  • Working with colleagues to gain insight and enhance ways of working to increase organisational effectiveness and improve staff wellbeing.
