The procurement and implementation of a new casual workforce management system is a key objective of the project. A detailed review has been undertaken of the current University Payment System (UPS) for payments to light-touch self-employed and casual workers to understand how it currently works and identity the improvements required for a more efficient and user-friendly system for institutions.
The successful implementation of a new system to manage casual workers, the supporting processes and their interface with existing University systems are fundamental to this project.
What the new system will do ...
- Develop more efficient processes for engaging, paying and managing casual workers, reducing the amount of time institutions spend on their administration whilst ensuring compliance.
- Enable a more strategic approach to planning and managing casual workers.
- Provide information about work, pay and hours against which to make decisions about our casual workforce.
- Provide a suite of reports to allow accurate and timely monitoring.
- Provide a seamless single initial registration for workers (including a single right to work check across the University), automation of timesheets and authorisation.
