The Professional Services Recognition Scheme is now open for nominations. The Scheme is open to all administrative staff across the University whose work supports research, teaching and scholarship; and nominations may be submitted by anyone working in the University.
New this year – Hot topic and unsung hero/heroine categories
This year two new categories have been introduced:
- Hot topic team category – this gives nominators the opportunity to highlight an area they feel has been a key focus for professional services – in whole or in part – over the previous year and to nominate the teams that have contributed to its handling. Examples might include issues which have arisen unexpectedly during the year and which have been handled particularly well; or, by contrast, matters which have been planned for and which have also been executed with notable success.
- Unsung hero/heroine individual category – this enables nominators to shine a deserving light on those individuals who quietly go about their daily work and might otherwise go unnoticed, but who make a real difference. Whilst these individuals are likely to describe their contribution modestly – as ‘just doing their job’ – they go above and beyond, not only in what they do, but how they go about doing it.

How to nominate
The window to submit nominations opens at 9am on Monday 15 October and closes at 5pm on Friday 26 October. Nominations should be submitted using the online nomination form at the link below:

After the closing date, the Nominations Review Committee will draw up a shortlist of individuals and teams. A celebratory awards event will be held in December, the details of which will be circulated shortly. The Committee may make further awards if it considers additional cases are particularly deserving.
