Festival of Wellbeing 2022: Now open for bookings

The University's Festival of Wellbeing 2022, which will take place from Monday 27 June to Friday 8 July, is now open for bookings. The programme includes a range of talks, tours, activities and resources aimed at promoting wellbeing and good mental and physical health. 

Events are open to all staff in both the academic University and the Colleges and to students. If you do not have a Raven log-in you can book onto events by emailing equality@admin.cam.ac.uk.

Mental Health Awareness Week: 18 - 22 May

Mental Health Awareness Week (May 18th - 22nd) is an annual campaign aimed at raising awareness of mental health and inspiring action to promote the message of good mental health for all.  In response to the ongoing worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, the theme of the week will focus on the relationship between ‘kindness’ and our mental health.

Launch of the University Diversity Fund

At the beginning of this academic year, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Stephen Toope spoke about the importance of strengthening equality and inclusion, and of promoting dignity, respect and a sense of belonging for all at the University.

The Vice-Chancellor reiterated a commitment to “openness to the wider world…being inclusive, and open to diversity in all its forms – diversity of interests and beliefs, of gender, of religion, of sexual identity, of ethnicity, of physical ability.”

Survey: National inquiry into racial harassment in higher education

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), the independent national equality body for Great Britain, has recently launched an inquiry into racial harassment in higher education. Feedback is being sought from individual staff and students on the types of racial harassment experienced or witnessed at universities, as well as the effectiveness of the routes for reporting racial harassment.
