The following new resources are now available on the HR Division website:

1.     Recruitment

  • Recruitment Policy: This policy provides the framework for effective staff recruitment and is available in a new online format (https://www.hr.admin.cam.ac.uk/recruitment-policy), or, alternatively, in a redesigned PDF format.
  • Recruitment Guidance: The associated guidance has been reviewed and redeveloped, providing up to date information in a format that improves usability and navigation. The guidance is available in an improved online format (http://www.recruitment.admin.cam.ac.uk) and in PDF, with individual guides covering the main sections of the process.
  • Diverse Recruitment Framework (DRF): This framework has been developed to further support equality and diversity practices.  It is designed as a source of ideas, information and resources to assist institutions in embedding the principles of diverse recruitment into all stages of the process from drafting the advertisement to shortlisting candidates and conducting interviews. It is available here (https://www.recruitment.admin.cam.ac.uk/system/files/diversity_in_recruitment_framework_final.pdf).
  • Further Information for Applicants Document: An updated version has been created in a Microsoft Word format to increase accessibility for colleagues (and Mac users in particular). It also includes important amendments to the text in the ‘Terms of Appointment’  section and the promotional information about the University. The new templates are available from the HR Forms section (https://www.hr.admin.cam.ac.uk/forms/hr7-further-information-template) of the HR web pages. Institutions are encouraged to use this document.

For further information about these recruitment resources or for recruitment-related advice, please contact Andrew Rowland, Resourcing Adviser, extension 60035, or email Resourcing@admin.cam.ac.uk.

In addition, please note that a Relocation Adviser has been appointed in the Accommodation Service to provide support and guidance to Institutions and new employees about relocation to Cambridge. For more information, please email Liz Weatherhogg or call her on extension 38023.

2.     Global Mobility

  • Global Mobility Policy: This policy sets out the procedure for managing planned overseas assignments of more than six months’ duration. It will enable a more consistent and streamlined approach both for the member of staff working overseas and for the institutional administrator organising the assignment.  It will also ensure compliance with legal regulations.  The policy is available online
  • Global Mobility Guidance: Two documents have been developed, a guide for staff supporting employees working or living overseas, and a guide for employees covering legal and practical considerations and health safety and wellbeing.

These documents are available on the Global Mobility and Overseas Assignments website, which provides a central source of information on all overseas working and living patterns, including a helpful decision tree, FAQs and useful links, at:

https://www.hr.admin.cam.ac.uk/hr-services/global-mobility-and-overseas-assignments

For further information about overseas assignments, please contact Maria Buckman, Global Mobility Co-ordinator, extension 60038, or email globalmobility@admin.cam.ac.uk.
