Views are sought on the development of three key policies; a Mutual Respect Policy (to replace the current Dignity at Work Policy), a revised Grievance Policy, and a new Redeployment Policy.  These proposed policies have been prioritised in response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and form part of the University's Recovery Plan.

Please see the consultation page for full details about each initiative, and how to respond online with your comments.  Responses on behalf of Schools and Non-School Institutions are particularly requested, along with the views of groups or individuals in roles with responsibility for the areas covered in these policies, but all staff and workers at the University are welcome to comment.

Responses for the Redeployment Policy can be submitted between 28 September 2020 and 6 November 2020.  The deadline for responses in respect of the Mutual Respect and Grievance Policies has been extended, however, from 6 November 2020 to 20 November 2020.  This is in recognition of the significant workload facing many colleagues this term, with the hope that the extended deadline helps alleviate some of that pressure. The deadline for the Redeployment Policy remains in line with its original date, given its importance in the immediate COVID recovery phase.

Please feel free to target your comments to issues of particular interest or concern to you; there is no need to respond to every question.  If you have queries regarding the policies or the consultation itself, contact details are included for the team leading this work.

The HR Committee will consider responses during the latter half of Michaelmas Term.  A summary report collating the comments received, the outcomes of the Equality Impact Assessments and the amendments that will be made as a result, will be published on the University website.
