Gender Pay Gap Report 2018

The University has published its 2018 Gender Pay Gap Report. This is the second mandatory gender pay gap report that the University has published in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties and Public Authorities) Regulations 2017.

Pay Award 2018: Implementation in September

The details of the 2018 pay award have been published in Reporter. The award allows for a 2% pay increase with higher increases on the lower points of the scale (11 to 27). The increases will be paid to staff in the September 2018 payroll.

National Pay Award 2017/18

The Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) has confirmed that implementation of the pay settlement effective from 1 August 2017 may proceed. The settlement provides for a 1.7% increase to the salaries of non-clinical staff on all spine points, except spine points 11 to 28 where the increases are as follows:

Points 11 to 14              2.43% increase

Point 15                        2.37% increase

Point 16                        2.33% increase

Supplement In Lieu of Pension Policy

The changes to pension taxation rules on how much an employee can save up to the Annual Allowance (AA) or Lifetime Allowance (LTA) has made membership of a pension scheme potentially unattractive for some employees.
