About the Form

New staff / visitors at University of Cambridge who are liable for an ATAS certificate must be provided with a research statement as agreed by the recruiting/hosting department or institution. An ATAS certificate may be required as part of the application process for the following immigration routes:

  • Skilled Worker visa;
  • Temporary Worker GAE (T5) visa;
  • Visitor visa application.

This template has been developed to support the creation of the research summary statement for ATAS applications. More information on ATAS can be found here.

 

Using the Form

The ATAS Research Summary Statement template must be completed by the department and then sent onto the new employee/visitor. The new employee/visitor should include the statement as part of their visa application. The statement should be written in third person and should be as technically detailed as possible and include all elements of research to be undertaken. The statement should not exceed a maximum of 2000 characters.

This form should not be used for students applying for, or on, a course of study which requires an ATAS certificate. More information on this process can be found here.
